There was a mad scramble for some free chocolates, the morning of 30 Mar 2012, from Nestlé in conjunction with Metro UK.
Commuters wanted to get their hands on Aero, the new bubbly bar and I was one of them.
Judging from the current economic climate, I have come to notice the reduced number of free stuff handed out. So the few times companies decide to do market research by providing consumers with free trials of their product, it’s no surprise people will be inclined to push and shove to get their just desserts.
Thank you Metro and Nestlé for the treats. Aero is one of my favourite chocolate brand anyway. I enjoyed these two bars as I read my copy of the paper.
I was wondering when was the next time I would get a freebie on my #dailycommute as the last one I got was almost two months ago.
Today, lastminute.com were pushing for new customers by giving them a sweet tooth with chocolate samples and a Promo code for staying in a luxury hotel.

Freebie picked up at London Liverpool Station.
Hooraay for freebies!
Had the chocolate after posting this and I have to say….I have had better delights. Still….hooray for freebies!
So yesterday got another freebie from London Liverpool Street station. An Oyster/travelcard holder with money off voucher from my favourite supermarket, Tesco.
Unfortunately, the voucher is for a particular store in the area and I hardly shop there. At least I got a cool Oyster card holder to use when my current one sees better days.
Hooray for freebies!
Disclaimer: Any products I review here are my opinion and you should use your own judgement when it comes to your child.
So, when DS was in the early stages of learning how to sit down without being propped, I was looking for something to make him land on his head less painful on our HARD laminate flooring. In other words, give him a ‘soft’ landing as he literally threw himself backwards. Short of him throwing his arms up like a swimmer, you would think DS was practising to be a backstroke champion.
After a few tears from both of us, I decided enough was enough. The old duvet I use on the floor was just not enough padding, so I decided to get the foam mats you see in the photo. They come in a pack of four pieces which attach together like a puzzle. You can also get one with numbers, alphabets, snakes and ladders or hop scotch. I chose this one as the pieces are big and less messy.
So, I put this on the floor and the duvet goes on top of it. I just love them as they are hard enough to withstand my active child, but have got enough padding to give him that soft landing he deserves. Think Bata slippers material and that is how they are albeit slightly softer. After a few bumps, DS soon learnt how to land softly on the mat. It wasn’t long, he learnt how to sit without throwing himself back and/or being propped.
They also made an excellent cushion for his feet when he was busy bouncing along on his Jumperoo (you can see a bit of it on the photo).
Please note: Always check at what age your should use a product and never leave your child unattended if you chose to use a product not specified for your child’s age. I say this as this particular product was for age 3+ years.
We have seen the ads and the products……and the rivalry is obvious.
Myself, I have come to love and hate apple products, but if I was to choose, I would pick Apple.
It made me wonder yesterday as I was reading a review about Microsoft’s Vista and I just concluded how clever the Apple people are………announce your own OS – Leopard – with a sneak peek (done sometime mid/late 2006)…..wait for Microsoft to release Vista……go back to the drawing board to make the final tweeks to Leopard (this is my own speculation)…..then release Leopard in the near future to rival Vista….BIG TIME!
One thing I that came to me was how the active windows on Vista look like the album art gallery on iTunes.
That’s just my opinion!
Happy Monday people!
